The Mary E. Geyer (MEG) Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, public charity corporation. Its chief mission is to identify meritorious female undergraduates and graduates majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) fields and to provide them with financial support. It is our belief that women who are successful in these fields will improve their personal and professional lives and, in turn, increase their number in leadership roles which shape the communities in which they live and work.
How It Works
The MEG Foundation relies entirely on donations. Its directors work voluntarily. Administration of the Foundation is conducted primarily online and donation solicitation relies heavily on social media. Expenses, management and overhead are minimal. Charitywatch.org, America’s charity watchdog, “considers a charity to be highly efficient when our end calculations produce a Program percentage of 75% or higher.” Our Foundation achieves a program rating of over 99 percent where 99 cents of every donation dollar goes directly to scholarship funding.
All transactions, financial statements and decisions are documented under the ‘Current Activities’ tab. Contributors, students and other interested parties have complete visibility into the Foundation activities.
